The Bonnie Campbell Hill National Literacy Leader Award rewards passionate individuals dedicated to improving the teaching of reading and writing for grades K-8. Hosted through the Children’s Literature Assembly (CLA), this award honors two outstanding teacher leaders each year. Applicants must be members of both the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and CLA.
Teacher leaders may include:
- Classroom Teachers
- Literacy Coaches
- Teacher Educators
The Award
- Winners will receive $2,500 in funds for professional development, plus an additional $150 book grant from Heinemann Publishing
- Award Presentation will occur during the CLA Breakfast at the NCTE Conference in November
Applications must be received by August 15, 2022
